Movies and $

Yes, i know movies and money go together, but this post is not about that relationship.

My dad took Davy and I to Pirates 3 last night. Overall, i liked it, but i still think there was just too much......stuff in it. But i did enjoy it alot, besides the fact we went to the 10:00pm showing and didn't get out till like 1 AM and we had to go to work at 7:30 in the morning. Also, i finally got to see The Pursuit of Happyness the other day (rented it). That is a good, sweet, awsome, superb, bodacious movie. Definently want to get a copy of that for myself.
I love movies. It's probably in the top 5 or so of things i like. Not like a weird obsession, but i get a lot of excitement/enjoyment out of a good movie. Not just any movie. Sure i like the ones that make you giggle, but good movies that really make you think are what i really like. But i do like a good comedy too: one that's well thought out and doesn't give you a guilty laugh.

As far as the other half of the title of this post, i went to the bank yesterday. Six days till we leave for Europe!!! So yesterday was the day i took out all the money i'll need (hopefully) before the trip. So now i'm back to where i was about Decemberish financially.

These are the things that's been going on the past few days. That and i've been going to work from 7:30 to about 3:30 every single day! I guess that means i'm getting older. So far i don't like getting older. Sure there's the driving and stuff like that, but i'm losing interest in things i like. But i guess it's probably a direct result of laziness. I know i'm supposed to work and fufill my role as a young adult, but sometimes...i just.....

summer so far...

I went to my school's awards banquet last night. It was nice. Lots of fun. Then a bunch of us went bowling after the banquet!
Bowling is...a lot of things. It is the "sport" for anyone. There was like 20 of us that were at the bowling alley. About 10-15 of those people left after the first round, so the few of us that were left had about five lanes to play on, so it was near constant bowling. We put multiple balls down a few lanes....and other stuff like that. Let me know if ya'll wana see some pics or videos from that.
Well, i guess that's about it, i'm gonna go be an usher at graduation tomorrow. And our class is decorating.

Just so this blog didn't completely waste your time: (look closely at the ground)

SUMMER VACATION BABY!!!!!!!!!

YES!!!! Kudos to Danny for guessing what the countdown was for.
For the first day of vacation i will be going to work. Might be some changes in the work situation, but i'll keep ya posted.
So ya, exams weren't too bad. Had a sweet pool party at a friends house after school today. And might i add, in the most humble way i can, that i am chicken war champ!
In case anyone who reads this doesn't know, I will be blessed to be going to Europe for the second summer in a row with my big bro! This summer i will be going to London, Paris, Switzerland, and Germany (maybe some other places too =) That will be like the first two weeks of June or so. I'll either put up a mega picture post, or a web album when i get back. That way i don't have to type so much ; )
The rest of my summer will be paying off the Europe trip.

Also, my school is hosting a youth group on Friday nights all summer long! It will be done by the kids at my school as an outreach to the public school kids in our area. So i'm going to try to get in on playing some worship for that. If this youth group gets big enough, i might put up a second blog just for that

So that's all for now, i'm gonna go jam to some OC Supertones later (great summer tunes) So party dudes!

Happy Mommy Day!

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy mom's day! (especially you mommies!)
Here is the classic mothers day video. (in all its 80's glory, only as Mr. T knows how)

In completely unrelated news, has anyone noticed how this is the summer of thirds? Spiderman 3 just came out, and now Shrek 3. Then Pirates-o-the-Caribbean 3. Then Oceans 13 (which is the 3rd in that series) Then the 3rd Bourne movie. I just read that Rush Hour 3 is in the works. Any others that I'm missing? Check out most of these movies and others in all their HD glory here.

That was sweet

Field Day was sweet. Not exactly what i had in mind, but very fun. When i got to school that morning, the lunchroom guy needed help, so me a two of my pals gave him a hand. Grillin' burgers and fryin' fries. Then handing it out to the peoples. It was a lot more fun than i thought it would be. And i got an apron out of it.
Yes, of course you need an apron to work in the lunch room ; )
So right in the middle of serving food, this other friend of mine comes in and says they've been looking for me so we can run my race. It was weird, frying fries one second, and literally, not even a minute later i'm running my "big" race. Second place =D
I tried a bunch of events i haven't tried before (also because i'm one of the bigger kids now) Long jump, shot put, and discus. I almost hit someone with the discuss. Did is say new events for me?
Then the water war. As soon as the principal yelled 'go' i ran with my group of pals to the far bucket of water balloons and began shooting my 7 foot sling shot. My other friend brought his too. It was so cool i can't even type about it.
Gettin ready to go to a b-day party. Yay!

Almost there....

Well, now that that's over. Oh, what is over you ask?

SATs went well on saturday. Or, at least as well as those things can go. I just love to get up as early as a school day on saturday to take a test that, in large majority, determines where i can further my education. (which i probably need to do, since i know there is probably a bunch of grammar errors in this blog). So, i did my best....i guess.

And then i finished my philosophical paper for english class. Now i just have to read it in front of my class and defend its arguments. yippee.

There was other stuff, i just can't remember it all right now.

Now what i wanted to post about: FIELD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love field day. No classes. I've been jogging these past few weeks to help prepare mentally for events. (i think i'm past hope getting ready physically ;D
I've been jogging at night which is a "night and day" difference from jogging under the sun. I went jogging during study hall today, and it was intense.

But, on to what else i love about field day. As done in eulogy form in second person:
The moist grass in the morning. Cheering on the little kids as they mosey down the track. Those 'fun' events: three legged races, barrel races, sack races, and snapping the rope in tug-of-war. Also, sneeking in on the little kids tug-o-war and "helping them out". Feeling satisfied by cool water in the hot sun. The smell of sunscreen reminds you of the beach. Getting to wear shorts at (my) school. Your friends run their races, and you only realize you're screaming when everyone stares at you.
Then it's your turn. You stretch. You take your mark on the little white line and try to remember how many laps you're supposed to run. (I also check to make sure my zipper's up =) As you look around at the competition you start to wonder if you'll beat anyone. In the middle of this thought, the thunder clap of the cap gun shoots adrenaline through your body. You take off running and try to find that perfect pace. (I can only run long distance) The cheer of your friends sounds louder than in the stands. Especially the joking ones that either remind you why you didn't want to run, or make you run a little faster to prove them wrong. Even though your lungs are on fire, and you seem to think you dropped you heart a few laps back, you start to work your way up to a sprint in the final lap. And there never fails to be someone right on your tail as you round the last turn. Everyone's on their feet. (This is the part where i double check that my zipper's up=) You seem to forget about breathing and start chasing the line that seems to be running too. When the finish line passes beneath your feet, you don't even know who won. Just before your legs go numb, you wonder why your calves don't melt your thighs because they feel like jello. That's your race.
The rest of the day is finished off by just chillin with your friends/pals/comrads and laughing until you cry. And the school wide, heavy artillery water balloon fight at the end of the day. And maybe a party that night. I love field day.
