Twas' a merry Christmas

A very nice Christmas indeed! I went Pennsylvania to see lots of family i haven't seen in a (very long) time while as well as lots of very good friends. (names are withheld to protect the innocent ;-)

And yes, for those of you who haven't heard, our Aunt Laurie has died on the 21 of December. Danny has done an excellent post about her on his blog

She is now perfect and complete in Heaven.

This is the very first picture posted with my new canon digital camera. (which exlpains why it's a tad blurry)(yes it was a Christmas gift for those who can't put 2 and 2 together) It's a very very nice camera and i'm not trying to brag or anything just letting you all reap the benefits of it as well. um...ya. Anywho, that's about it for now, hope you all had a very merry Christmas too, feel free to leave a comment describing your merry Christmas, if you still feeling the Christmas spirit!

Christmastime

well, i dutifully slept in the past two days to recover from exam week. The exams went surprisingly well, with like a C my lowest in dagum government. The rest were quite pleasing. So, i won't keep ya'll in suspense any more.....i did get to Columbia just fine. I picked up Davy and then Danny calls us and says his car broke down so he's going to use ours to go to work. So we stayed at his house for ....a while. But that was fun because i got to download all the "fun stuff" i wanted to with his high speed.

That's about it Ya'll have a very Merry Christmas , and don't forget to watch "A Charlie Brown Christams". And i also think it's flat out wrong to be over 65 degrees in December, like it is here. and don't forget:

(really cool website by the way: http://www.biblegateway.com/ )

Luke 3:8-15, 20

8
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord.

12
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

This week, my mom, sister and foster baby have gone to see my aunt with cancer in Pennsylvania and my dad is on China on buisness. So that leaves me here 'home alone'! And in sheer coinsidence most of the nieghbours have left for Christmas vacation. This is why I say it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas (or at least "home alone 4") But my parents will be back on Monday or something =D and i've had at least half my friends and family offer to have me over for dinner or "call me if you need anything", and even an offer to stay at a friends house.
The plus side is I get to try all the microwaveable food I've wanted to try and i ever will want to try for a good long while. Though easy mac isn't too bad....or those mini pizzas....

I haven't posted in a little while because this is also exam week. Then: NO SCHOOL FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : {D (that's a smiley face that got so happy it grew a mustache!! and yes i better stop now because i don't know where this is going)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reality

Ya, even a little reality has a mean left hook. Ok, so it's not that bad, but i locked my keys in my car on Wednesday, and was half an hour late to work. (Yes, i had a wire coathanger and screwdriver, but it was much safer and had less chance of repairs to call my mommy) So, i got to work but there's really never anything to do anyways....although i did learn how to drill holes to put gears on motors. Yay! something new! But all in all that's not that bad. Just very annoying.

I went to a garage band show Friday night. very cool. they were pretty hard music; played alot of Skillet stuff. Very, very nice Christian guys and gals. Then one of my friends played his acoustic set, and that was very cool. He is also a very cool Christian guy, but sorry, he's not on itunes, yet ;-) So, ya that's about it....I tried downloading some software apps from the library today just because downloading almost anything with dial-up is a no-no. But the security stuff at the library wouldn't let me download anything either. So all the fun stff (itunes, napster, google software, etc.) will have to wait till college =-(

I'll leave you all with this simple message that's been said many times in many ways:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

college in highschool

I meant to post before i left for Bob Jones University. Let me explain....no, no time, let me sum up: My school gave us juniors and seniors the opportunity to go visit a college to see what college life was like. But the only college our school deemed worthy was Bob Jones University. All i'll say about this place is that there is a strict dress code and bedtime (12:00). It is a pretty good Christian college, just some funny rules that make me laugh. So there was about 12-13 of us that went there, and we had a good time just hangin' out eating alot of little squeezers' pizza (that's: little ceasers') and going to a few classes. I actually went to 3 classes on thursday, and 5 on friday. I still have no idea what i want to go to college for, much less a carreer, so i was looking for some communications classes. But i had to settle for cinema classes because Bob Jones didn't have that many communications classes. But cinema isn't all that bad, and it was extra good because i didn't have to take notes or anything. I meant to post before we left but this job is from right after school till about 6:15 which is promptly followed by homework. But today they ran out of parts so i was only at work for about 12 minutes. That goes under the "awkward situations" list.

The other day i was messing with my phone and accidentaly (really) sent this picture to my inbox. It is from Bob Jones. I think it would be better if i just explain it. on the left hand side is an ATMachine and there is just this big area behind it. Now, at Bob Jones, couples are not allowed to be "alone' on campus. So if you look real closely at the upper right hand side you can see a little mirror so no one can hide behind the machine to be "alone" with their significant other. I know that's the dumbest thing you've ever heard but it made me laugh at the time, and it cost me about $1.00 i think to send the picture so i might as well use it. Enjoy and I'll be right back after these messages! =)

Big Times

So, after school on Monday i check my voicemail and my Dad has left a message saying a job opening has appeared at his shop. I'm off school the next day for election day and instead of doing what what needs to be done (relax and deeply meditate on school work with my eyes closed in bed) I hussle off to work at 8:00 pm. Ok yea, i guess i actually would rather make some $mula$ instead of sleeping. Haha. I actually don't mind the work so much, it's king of gratifying in a wierd way to make some small sub-assembly part with nothing but your bare hands, power tools, and a few nylock nuts =) And the people there are rather fun to work with. And i went that first full day without any injury. I couldn't go to work on Wednesday because...i'll tell you in a second why. But today i cut myself with scissors trying to cut open a box. Nothing major at all, but i had to write in the log that i took some gauze and a band-aid out of the first aid cabinet, so that counts as my first injury!!

Oh yeah! I couldn't go to work on Wednesday because a) I had to finish a yearbook deadline and b) i had to go to youth group early to practice with the worship band. I played bass, which is not unlike playing guitar, Which is good because i haven't played bass much before. But over all i think it went well, but only about 10-12 people (out of about 30) were at youth group that night. But that was good too because i didn't want o mess up in front of a buch of people.

Thanks for reading this peoples. i gotta get to bed because i have chemistry test and Wuthering Heights quiz tomorrow. Thank goodness for sparknotes to translate the book after i read it.

I'M DONE!

Done with what you may ask?

Soccer has finished last Monday (we lost in the quarter finals), and..... I completed my 6 hours of political volonteering for Government & Economics class! So, now you'd think I'd have a bunch of time on my hands right? no. I stayed after school till 9:45 today. (No I did not violate the dress code or kill anyone) I was finishing/working on pages for yearbook till about five o' clock, then helped the seniors babysit 6-11 year olds for a fund raiser. (ya, I don't know if fund-raiser is 1 or 2 words). That wasn't so bad. Only; why do little kids get so hyper only when you put the movie on? Anywho, tomorrow is our school's Fall Festival, basically just a big fundraiser (fund raiser) foor the school in swhich every class has one or two booths. I'll update ya'll (four people i think) on that later. Peace out for now ;D

Telemarketer for a day!

As if I needed further proof that my life is extra-boring:

For my Government & Economics class i have to work 6 hours of campaining work before election day. (and my Gov & Econ. teacher just happened to only have republican speakers come in and talk to our class) Not that i'm really pulling for one side or the other, I just think it's kinda like cheating or something, not letting the democrats have a say. Anywho, i went to do the annoying phone calls that you get right at dinner time and sounds like some foriegn exchange student trying to earn extra credit. I did the phone calls from 4:30-7:00. BOR....ING!! But i only made about 3.5 people really mad out of about 20-30 that i actually talked to. In total i think i made about 150 phone calls. There was one name that was like bob hay or something, so, me being the smart person taht i am, said, "hey, is this the....um..... hay's residence?" Then I called bob hurt. I (same as before) said , "is this the hurt's residence?" and he promptly and calmly responded, "well, ya, on most days if you're lucky" ya i guess you have to be at a certain level of bordem for those to make you really laugh.

TO ANYONE & EVERYONE WHO READS THIS BLOG:
Please leave a comment if you want me to post something else. (Just about anything goes) or if you just want me to shut this whole thing down. 8-)

An amazing weekend!

This has been an amazing weekend! Friday (the best weekends start on Fridays!) my guitar teacher got $10 tickets to the Carolina Opry. (ya it really started when my brothers came back home for fall break) So me and Davy went to the Opry (for those of you who aren’t fortunate enough to know what the Opry is, it’s a theatre, and my guitar teacher works there) where they were doing their “retro” show. I do enjoy a lot of that kind of music. So then on Saturday I went to guitar lessons, and had a good time there. That lesson was actually video recorded for a “behind the scenes” kinda thing for the DVD of J4J next year. So then that night I went to a really cool youth group thing and had a ton of fun their. Also that night, my dad took me, Davy, and lil’ sis’ Sara to lazer tag; an exceptional outing. Church was great to, this morning, and then I went with Davy to Columbia and drove the car back home with out getting lost or pulled over! I’m a big kid now!

things i highly dislike

I don't really like using the word "hate". It really is such a strong word. Anywho, enough philosophy opinion 101; what is the cause of all this "hate"?

Algebra II
Chemistry
wejys' (say it like it sounds)

and.......

PSAT'S+DMV!

Yes i know it's Practice sat's and it doesn't count, but that was the first time I've done anything with any kind of that thing; it was quite nervracking. So i guess i did alright, I'll find out in December, but it wasn't fun at all. So then, after school, since i didn't have soccer practice, i went to the DMV to get my extension for my day liscence. Every single other time i've gone there I've forgoten at least just one peice of paper they wanted to see. So this time i had enough paperwork to qualify me as a nerd. (or at least a polotician). I got through the paperwork they gave me and the lady says, "alright that'll be $12.50". That was the only paperwork i didn't have. So i called supermom and she rushed me the green sheet: form 20 (aka 20 bucks) So the DMV once again made me/us make 2 trips. I almost felt like a big boy for a second. So that's about it, if i can figure out how to put pix from my phone onto the computer for free, we might get to see photographic evidence that i actually do things besides eat and sleep (not that there's anything wrong with that.....=D)

what's been happening....

Sorry there has been a lack of posting lately. Soccer has been pretty busy lately, but it’s also been going quite well. We’ve won our past three games, and got another big one tomorrow. But today our coach was told he had to be “quarantined” because he has a very strong case of pink eye. So our “secondary” coach will be leading for a while. Other activities going on are yearbook. I have to finish four pages by the first of November and I’ve started one. PSAT’s are this Wednesday (yippee) which is the day after our Macbeth essays are due. (oh ya, I better start that (lol) And that’s about it…oo,oo My birthday was Monday (sweet-sixteen I hear is what they call these days). I got a shirt with a picture of Mr. Rogers on it and it says under it: “It’s good in the hood”. Other packages included a few CDs, candy, devotional book, and....um…..a cellular telephone. (It’s actually quite cool, and I’ve probably wasted too much time customizing it already, oops!). That’s about it all the exciting details of my exciting life. (I’ll try to get some pictures of something up soon because reading my own blog is boring (pictures are worth 1,000 words =D

The Show

This past Sunday (Oct. 1) was my guitar class' concert. (which is appropiatly called: Jammin' 4 Jesus) It was in this fairly large building that used to be a wanna-be-broadway style kinda place, only smaller. It is now a church and it was a really cool place to play. This was my sixth or seventh concert I've played in and it was the best. We started out behind the curtain playing this acoustic intro that sounds kinda like the first part of Switchfoot's 'Dare you to move' song. (Ok, it really doesn't sound like that at all but it is pretty cool) So we played that then those of us that played the intro part walked to the front part of the stage as the rest of the class came out on stage and we launched into the loud part =D It was pretty cool. The place was packed to, I'd guess about 600 people, maybe more. So, ya that was fun. Oo, oo it was recorded to, so Lord willing we'll have a DVD and CD to sell soon, but probably not till January or Februaruy next year. That's about it, except i did take the trash to the dump in my jammy's this evening =D

Things that make the moisture in your mouth move to your plams:

The road test. (pause for effect) Yes my fellow…um….fellows….I am now a licensed driver. My first tester was a bit hard to understand so about all I understood was that I had to wait two weeks to try again. (not really, but sort of) This tester today I could see as a grandma so I guess that helped. And what was the first place I went to with my new found freedom? The precision tune auto repair center of course. I prefer to wait and have a set of wheels that won’t die on me. So, I did drive by myself the same day I got my day license (thanks dad). I then went to youth group, and had another enjoyable time there. Still gotta work on keeping rhythm for the worship songs though (hahaha). Well, tomorrow my mother, sister, and foster baby are going to Columbia to visit the ol’ college dudes. Ta Ta For Now. (ttfn) =)

Fun at school!?!?!?!`

Well this week at school is spiritual emphasis week. All we do is chapel and games all week long. But it's not really all week because we have NO SCHOOL Thursday of Friday. I guess i better stop gloating now before i get obscene comments. In other news I rode a motorcycle for the 2nd time in my life on Sunday. It was a rental my Dad used for his wedding aniversary and it didn't need to be returned till Sun. Motorcycles are very fun!
